PulseWave is a compact heartbeat visualization system that utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller, KY-039 optical pulse sensor, and a 128×64 OLED display to create a real-time ECG-style waveform. The system detects variations in blood flow through a user’s fingertip and converts these changes into graphical pulse peaks displayed on the OLED screen.
The project demonstrates the concepts of optical pulse sensing, analog signal acquisition, real-time data processing, and graphical visualization using embedded systems. Due to its simple hardware requirements, low cost, and interactive operation, PulseWave serves as an excellent educational platform for learning biomedical instrumentation, sensor interfacing, and microcontroller programming. The project is suitable for academic demonstrations, science exhibitions, engineering mini-projects, and DIY electronics learning kits. (Program already uploaded.)
